Mull chalet is one of seven on the site of Balvicar Chalets - the chalets are all privately owned. We are just down the road from the village of Balvicar, a small village on Seil island, 16 miles south of Oban in Argyll, on the beautiful west coast of Scotland.
Directions:
From Oban, take the A816 south and continue along this road for about 8 miles. Just before the village of Kilninver take the right hand turn towards the Clachan Bridge. Follow this road over the bridge and continue towards Easdale until Balvicar Stores. Just beyond the stores take the left turn at the crossroads and follow the road past the houses to the Balvicar Chalets. The road gets narrower, bendier and eventually runs outs to a track - you pass over a cattle grid just before the left hand turning to the chalet.

The road has run out but don't worry you are almost here
- take the next left after crossing the cattle grid
Unlike most Scottish islands, Seil can be reached by road via the 'Bridge Over the Atlantic', built in 1792. This means that you are not restricted to ferry schedules when getting to-and-from the island - handy if you are arriving late.

Clachan Bridge ('The Bridge Over the Atlantic')
links Seil with the mainland
It takes about three hours by car from Glasgow, through magnificent west coast scenery.

P.S.
Balvicar has a great village stores which sells almost everything ! You can even rent DVDs to play in the chalet - it's also where you can catch the bus to Oban (timetable in the chalet):
